That Darn Ego

“God, what is it that you want me to let go of this Lent? Is it other than what I think?” – from yesterday’s devotion reading.

Many years ago I prayed, “God, help me care more what you think than what others think.”

I think that God wants me to let go of my preoccupation for what people think of me. I think God put that prayer on my heart many years ago knowing today would come. I spend so much time imagining how people must be disappointed in me and how they must not enjoy being around me. (I know you all don’t think that.)

So much would be better if I simply focused on what God thinks of me.

….well, I am off to watch Olympics.

Good night all. Rest well. Tomorrow is the first Sunday of Lent. I will probably take tomorrow off from doing my writing.

Lots of love.

  1. God bless you with your writing on this first Sunday of Lent! It is SO worth it…worshipful…and intimate with God and Jesus. Love you!

  2. This post makes me think a lot of a recent Nadia HFASS sermon titled “What Would Jesus Tell to Shut the Hell Up?” Sending love to you and peace for your mind.
