Thank goodness I don’t have time to lay in bed for a while.  Up at 6:10AM and going all day, till now.  Tomorrow I’ll be up at 6:00AM and will probably not get home till after 10PM.  So, since I didn’t have time to lay in bed and feel the …whatever it is….all day I thought of making a list of 10 things that are awesome in my life:

-Gray….this morning when I woke up he was lying right beside me.

-Cole….he is staying at my home Sunday-Tuesday….working towards Sunday-Wednesday, but for now Tuesdays are too busy for him to be at my house.  I am coming to love the rhythm we have together.  It is different.  It is calm and quiet and there are so many things I love about my time with him, car rides, whistling, watching Jeopardy, eating in front of the TV.

-The health of my body…quite a few people are ailing in ways that include broken bones, surgery, treatments.  I see Dr. Jonas on Wednesday.  I did my pre-appointment blood work and all the pesky numbers are in line.

-Spending time with my mom…since I am exiled from John’s house, when I am in the neighborhood over there, I am planning to stay with my mom.  Already I have had an unexpected lunch with her and gone to church with her.  I would not be doing this if life was “normal”.

-A small house that is just the right size of coziness for me.

-Going to movies by myself.

-I won a two month membership to a gym…I am looking forward to trying a new exercise routine.

-Taking that 10 week on-line course.  It’s going really well.

-Day light savings…while everyone is bemoaning how horrible it is…I love that it is staying light longer.

This Sunday Pastor Jim preached on Luke, Chapter 6….this passage…it is really encouraging me as I am going through this week.

17 He went down with them and stood on a level place. A large crowd of his disciples was there and a great number of people from all over Judea, from Jerusalem, and from the coastal region around Tyre and Sidon, 18 who had come to hear him and to be healed of their diseases. Those troubled by impure spirits were cured, 19 and the people all tried to touch him, because power was coming from him and healing them all.

20 Looking at his disciples, he said:

“Blessed are you who are poor,
for yours is the kingdom of God.
21 Blessed are you who hunger now,
    for you will be satisfied.
Blessed are you who weep now,
    for you will laugh.
22 Blessed are you when people hate you,
when they exclude you and insult you
and reject your name as evil,
because of the Son of Man.

23 “Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, because great is your reward in heaven. For that is how their ancestors treated the prophets.

24 “But woe to you who are rich,
for you have already received your comfort.
25 Woe to you who are well fed now,
    for you will go hungry.
Woe to you who laugh now,
for you will mourn and weep.
26 Woe to you when everyone speaks well of you,
for that is how their ancestors treated the false prophets.
